COVID‐19 in heart transplant recipients: impact of immunosuppressive medication

In the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic, organ transplant recipients are considered to be at particular high risk for infection and unfavorable outcome. We report here a case of COVID-19 in a heart transplant recipient and review the current knowledge on the potential impact of immunosuppressive medication on disease severity, virus shedding, and antiviral therapy in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.
